Unalayee Anthology Request for Submissions
Add your story to the Unalayee Anthology!
Sarah Priestman – long time camp friend, former director, work crew volunteer – is putting together a collection of stories and memories to give away at the reunion in Ben Lomond, October 5-7.
She’s covering the costs for the collection to be published as a paperback book – even hiring a designer to make it look good (wow!) – and she’d love to include as many stories as possible.
The anthology will include a section entitled “Gone Too Soon,” which will include tributes to those we’ve lost. Please feel free to contribute if you feel drawn to do so.
Deadline is August 1, but Sarah is asking for stories to be sent sooner to avoid a last-minute avalanche.
She won’t change a thing with the way your work is written. Your voice is your voice. All in the spirit of camp!
Want to use an AI program to tell your story? That works, but just know that Sarah will not revise whatever text your program captures. Your story will be printed as submitted, and needs to be approximately 900 words.
Please send your story to Sarah (not the camp office) in a Word doc, and write Camp U and the year of your story in the subject line. (aka Camp U, 2010). This just makes organizing the submissions easier.
Please include your name, the years you were at camp (staff, camper, volunteer, whatever) and a few lines about what you’re doing now at the end of the Word doc.
You can submit more than one story! Please keep word count max to about 900.
Send your stories (or questions) to Sarah Priestman at spriestman@aol.com.
We can’t wait to see the final collection!
